Brittany Layton

Director of Business Operations

Brittany Layton is the Co-founder of For Burkina and serves as the Director of Business Operations. In 2013 Brittany graduated from Drury University in Springfield, MO with a Master’s in Architecture degree. During her educational career she focused on humanitarian design, or designing for those in need by using the built and natural environment to improve the happiness and welfare of people. During college Brittany served in many organizations including Mortar Board, Tau Sigma delta, Gamma Sigma Alpha, Design Build, Student Mentor Program, Student Representatives, and Zeta Tau Alpha. Currently Brittany works for a local architecture firm and serves on the Rainbow Network’s Methodist Churches of the Ozark’s Housing Initiative Committee.

Since graduating Brittany has traveled to rural Nicaragua to work on the construction of a sustainable housing community. While there she saw first hand the impact made by architectural and educational development, and she is excited to now start working in Burkina Faso.

As an outdoor enthusiast, Brittany enjoys running, biking, hiking, rock climbing, and simply put, seeking new adventures. However, what excites her most is being submersed in another culture and working alongside people to improve their communities. Brittany’s past experiences and passion for social design and community development make her the ideal Director of Business Operations for the For Burkina team.
