Alaa AlRadwan moved to Springfield from Kuwait City four years ago and is currently a fifth year student at Drury University in Springfield, MO. At Drury she is working towards both a Masters of Architecture and a Bachelor of Arts degree. Her interests focus on urban design, designing cities and social infrastructures that help promote integration and growth. Alaa is part of multiple organizations at Drury. She is the Project Manager for the Crowder-Drury Solar Decathlon team, the Public Relations officer of Voices of Change and a member of Zeta Tau Alpha.
After spending a summer as a visiting researcher at the SENSEable city lab at MIT, she discovered a passion for research and the effect it has on the design world. She would like to eventually go to graduate school and earn a PHD in urban design to further her goal of becoming an educator.
As a travel junkie, Alaa enjoys traveling around the world, immersing herself in new cultures, discovering new places and meeting local community members. She is excited to be going to Burkina Faso and learning about the culture, the people and the passion they have for progression and community development.
